If you’re a Details Pressure Wash customer, you have most likely communicated with our administrative Assistant, Valerie Dawn. Though she has been with us for only 18 months, Valerie has worked in the trucking and trucking related industries for over 20 years. In that time she has worn pretty much every hat in terms of office work: Manager, Assistant Manager, Bookkeeper, Administrative Assistant, and more. As our Administrative Assistant, Valerie handles invoicing and accounts payable, communicates with existing and potential customers, and gives directions to our truck wash facility on both the phone and cb radio. She’s the hub of our office and keeps it all moving forward.
Valerie has seen some great developments in our business, in particular our newest service: ice dam removal via steam. She’s the key player in handling the deluge of requests that we have received. “Of late it’s just gone hog-wild and the phone calls have been coming pretty much non-stop. It’s a new service that we are providing and we’ve been totally astounded at how much of a need there is for it.”
Like everyone at Details Pressure Wash, Valerie prides herself on her attention to detail: “Since I communicate with the customers so much, I like to make sure that the bottom line balances for both them and the company. Working with the customers is one of the best aspects of the job.”
Outside of work, Valerie enjoys dowsing (locating underground water, also know as water-witching), as well as spinning wool by hand and knitting – lot’s of craft work. She’s an indispensable member of the team and keeps us running.
All our Washbay customers know our Washbay Manager, Tristan Smith. Tristan has been with the company 11 years and from the get-go brought attention to detail to the job. He states: “I generally like to detail vehicles, and I saw that Details Pressurewash had an ad in the paper for a wash technician.” In short, he loves to wash and detail trucks. His overall duties are making sure the Washbay is up and running at all times. He interfaces with clientele, provides general maintenance for all the equipment, and supervises the three Washbay technicians.
Recent technical improvements in the Washbay support his attention to detail: “We’ve just changed the type of equipment we use for washing trucks. We are now much more efficient with providing a high quality wash, and drivers waiting for a wash spend less time in line. We’re using a new detergent application system as well as a new type of detergent. This has cut down the amount of hand brushwork we do by about 60 percent. The detergent cleans faster and does a much more thorough job, because it’s the detergent itself that’s doing the actual washing, not the hand scrubbing, so there are no missed spots.”
Providing the level of service available at the Washbay gives Tristan a great deal of personal satisfaction. “I really take pride in my work and I like to see the drivers really happy. They’re really impressed by the type of work we do here. Compared to other truck washing services that they have been to, they always say we do the best job. I take pride in that and look forward to it every day.”
Hailing from Alfred ME, Tristan now resides in North Sebago with his wife and three kids. On the weekends he likes to – you guessed it – wash and detail trucks. He really does enjoy it that much.
The Washbay is located at Southbound Exit 25 on the Maine Turnpike (I-95) in Kennebunk ME. Hours are 7am-8pm Monday through Thursday and 7am-6pm on Friday. Call us at 207-985-5737 for more info.
December always seems to come around so quickly each year. Right now we’re all putting our thoughts into holiday activities, gift shopping, and (god forbid) visits to the MALL!
It also makes us reflect on the past year. For us here at Details Pressure Wash, 2010 was another successful year in the pressure washing business, despite the bad economy. As our nation digs itself out of the recession, both our commercial and residential pressure washing clients are seeing their finances and budgets improve, and are investing in the outward appearances of their homes and residences, commercial truck fleets, truck & tractor trailer businesses, and commercial/industrial facilities. Through our pressure washing services, we improve our customers images and help them to succeed.
Over the past year our wash truck fleet has been expanded and modernized. We have developed and implemented new roof pressure washing technology which permits us to more effectively wash both asphalt and wood roofs from ground level while decreasing water pressure. We have expanded safety training for our pressure wash crews, and refined and modernized environmental precautions and our washwater recovery systems. On the marketing side, we are continuing to expand our presence on the internet as a tool to reach out to both new and existing customers. Most importantly, our list of pressure washing customers continues to grow. Like previously stated, we exist to help our customers succeed.
Everyone here at Details Pressure Wash wishes you all a great holiday season and the best of luck for 2011.
Howdy all. As you can see, the new Details Pressure Wash website is up, and we’re quite proud and excited. The new site, in conjunction with our facebook page, will provide a more interactive experience between ourselves and our customers.
Along with the usual info about our services, we have some exciting new additions: There are coupons available for download offering discounts on our services, and the coupons will change monthly. There’s information on safety and our environmental friendliness, as well as an opportunity for you to give us feedback on our work via the Testimonials section. And of course, our new blog will present colorful commentary about our employees, customers, and the pressure wash business in general.
